CBD (cannabidiol) oefent uitgesproken tijdsafhankelijke remmende effecten uit op zowel biofilmvorming als verstoring van de volgroeide biofilm van de schimmel Candida albicans. Candida albicans wordt gewoonlijk aangetroffen in het gezonde menselijk lichaam. Wanneer het immuunsysteem gecompromitteerd is kan het gezondheidsproblemen veroorzaken.
